Qualiseg, as chair of CT224 and in its capacity as an expert, was virtually represented by its president Manuel Carrasqueira at the ISO/TC 268 plenary meeting held in Hamamatsu, Japan, in October 2025.
The main objective of this meeting was to prepare the transition of the work of ISO/TC 268 to the new ISO/IEC JTC 4, dedicated to the theme ‘Smart and sustainable cities and communities’.
The plenary session addressed several topics essential to sustainable urban development, including:
1️⃣ The revision of ISO 37100 – ‘Sustainable cities and communities — Vocabulary’
2️⃣ The development of the new ISO 37111, which provides guidelines for smaller communities to implement the ISO 37101 sustainable development management system.
This work reinforces the international commitment to defining standards that promote more sustainable, inclusive and resilient cities. 🌍
