hello world!

BW LNG and DNV offer MML internships

Partnerships were closed with BW LNG and Det Norske Veritas (DNV), that will offer the MML students the possibility of carrying out internships with them.

New partnerships with these two important companies for the Master’s in Maritime Logistics were agreed under the scope of the M4ML project, funded by the EEA Grants. This project supports mobility for MML faculty and students, between Portugal and Norway.

BW LNG is a global company with over 40 years of experience, owning and operating LNG assets from offices around the world. They now own a fleet of 30 LNG carriers and Floating Storage and Regasification Units. Their goal is to move natural gas efficiently and responsibly to minimize the total carbon footprint. Their commercial and technical management of the LNG carriers are handled in-house from their offices in Oslo.

The internship offered by BW LNG will take place in their procurement department, which is largely engaged in logistics, shipping of goods and services to their ships worldwide. They work in close contact with the operations department planning the logistics.

Det Norske Veritas (DNV) is the world’s leading classification society and a recognized advisor for the maritime industry. They deliver world-renowned testing, certification, and technical advisory services to the energy value chain, including renewables, oil and gas, and energy management. They are one of the world’s leading certification bodies, helping businesses assure the performance of their organizations, products, people, facilities, and supply chains. The internship offered by DNV will be related to the Green Shipping Programme (GSP). GSP is a public-private partnership that aims to gather the maritime industry – consisting of shipping companies, shipyards, suppliers, harbours, goods owners and freight forwarders, service providers, authorities, and academia – to escalate investment in green shipping.

Also, under the M4ML program, other partnerships are being negotiated so that MML students can be offered more internship opportunities in Norwegian companies. Stay tuned to know which companies can also be an option for you if you are interested in the Master in Maritime Logistics and in participating in this exchange program.
