Internships in Norwegian companies

Four students from the FCT NOVA Master's in Engineering and Industrial Management were chosen to do internships in Norwegian companies within the scope of the M4ML Project

Beatriz Jesus, Rafael Ferreira, Rita Ferreira and Tiago Laurencio were the students chosen to undertake a six-month internship at the Norwegian companies DNV Shipping Advisory and Klaveness Digital, within the scope of the M4ML Project, which aims to promote mobility of students, professors and researchers in the context of Maritime Logistics between Portugal and Norway, as well as contributing to the evolution of this area through the development of innovative educational materials, and the encouraging of mutual learning between Academia and Industry in the field of the Blue Economy, or Economy of the Sea.

On the 14th of February, these students participated at a clarification session where they had the opportunity to talk to the Professors responsible for the project - at Universidade Nova de Lisboa, Professor Radu Godina, and at Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), Professor Doctor Stein Ove Erikstad - and clarify all their doubts about the companies and the country that will host them.

M4ML is a project promoted by EEA Grants* and DGPM – Direção Geral de Política do Mar, in partnership with FCT NOVA, NTNU, Fórum Oceano and Qualiseg.

* About the EEA Grants

Through the Agreement on the European Economic Area (EEA), Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway are partners in the internal market with the Member States of the European Union. As a way of promoting a continuous and balanced strengthening of economic and trade relations, the parties to the EEA Agreement have established a multi-year Financial Mechanism, known as EEA Grants. The EEA Grants aim to reduce social and economic disparities in Europe and strengthen bilateral relations between these three countries and the beneficiary countries.
