The IPTL, under the ERASMUS + program, obtained approval for funding the development of a capacity building project in the field of vocational education and training in São Tomé and Príncipe. This project will be developed together with other national and international entities (Qualiseg, EVM, Decel, and MARAPA, with IPTL as the project coordinator.
CBM-VET aims to support the accessibility and responsiveness of vocational education institutions (VET), in the maritime area, in São Tomé and Príncipe, a third country not associated to the ERASMUS+ program, as a driver for economic development.
The mission of this project is to design, implement and promote a transnational cooperation network that, through the development of skills and competences for the local community mainly in the maritime and fishing sector, and contribute to address the social, technological and economic challenges in São Tomé and Príncipe
The choice of this country was due to the fact that it was identified in the FAO study. 2021 - Blue Economy Transition Strategy for Sao Tome and Principe - as a country with great potential, but with several gaps, with particular relevance in skills, competencies, quality assurance mechanisms, health and safety, learning infrastructures, in the port/maritime and fishing areas.
Soon we will publish the official project page.
